L-Glutathione Reduced 98% Functions & Applications

Reduced L-glutathione is a thiol containing tripeptide used in biochemical redox work and protein purification. A documented laboratory application is the elution of glutathione S-transferase from glutathione affinity media. In that setting, the soluble molecule is part of a defined purification method, not a general preservative for the protein preparation. The reduced form must be distinguished from oxidized glutathione because their chemical roles are different. For the 98% labelled material, confirm the analytical basis and the actual balance of reduced and oxidized species before choosing it for a redox sensitive procedure. Method suitability also depends on impurities and handling of the supplied grade. No nutritional, skin brightening or therapeutic outcome follows from its biochemical antioxidant role.
