Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Powder (SCI 80) Functions & Applications

Sodium cocoyl isethionate powder can be used in personal cleansing bars that combine synthetic surfactants with soap. Supplier documentation describes soap compatibility and lime-soap dispersibility, giving this chemistry a useful role in controlling the washing character of a combination bar. It also contributes lather in hard-water conditions. For a powder listed as SCI 80, the active content and remaining composition matter when deciding how much material to include and how the bar will process. A differently concentrated isethionate cannot be exchanged solely by matching total ingredient weight. Mixing, moisture balance and the other structuring materials influence the resulting solid product. Confirm the commercial grade before carrying a reference formulation into production.
