Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (SMCT) Liquid Functions & Applications

Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate liquid is a water-containing format used in the development of foaming cleansers. Aqueous manufacturer grades are documented for shampoos and facial foams, where the taurate contributes detergent action and lather alongside other surfactants. The liquid presentation can be incorporated into a water-based batch, while its included water becomes part of the formulation balance. This distinguishes it from a powdered taurate when planning active matter, solids and processing. A liquid designation does not specify a universal concentration or preservation system. The supplied composition should therefore guide the calculation rather than an assumed standard percentage. Foam quality, clarity or opacity, and viscosity response should be assessed in the complete cleansing base.
