Vitamin A Acetate Functions & Applications

Vitamin A acetate is a vitamin A source whose application depends on its physical delivery format and declared potency. Microencapsulated retinyl acetate preparations are used in nutritional formulation because the carrier system allows the vitamin to be distributed through suitable dry blends. A concentrated retinyl acetate ingredient requires a different incorporation approach and cannot be treated as the same raw material as a formulated beadlet powder. For supplement or food-fortification development, selection should start with vitamin activity, particle characteristics, carrier ingredients and the required food-grade documentation. This listing does not identify those attributes. Any application must therefore be matched to the supplied preparation, with processing and storage selected to protect the vitamin throughout manufacture and shelf life.
