Hydrolized Oat Protien Functions & Applications

Hydrolyzed oat protein can be used in cosmetic development where a plant derived film forming ingredient is desired. Oat based commercial preparations are not always purified protein alone: producer literature describes hydrolysates that include carbohydrate rich components alongside the protein derived fraction. That composition matters when evaluating the feel and conditioning contribution of an oat ingredient in a skin or hair care system. A soluble liquid preparation and a dried protein hydrolysate should be compared on their actual solids and ingredient declaration. The label should also distinguish Hydrolyzed Oat Protein from the broader designation Hydrolyzed Oats. Neither term by itself establishes beta glucan content, a particular peptide size or the performance of a specialized oat active.
