Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate (Powder) Functions & Applications

Sodium cocoyl glutamate powder is a dry amino-acid surfactant used to construct cleansing systems with controlled solids and water content. Manufacturer reference grades form cream- and paste-type bases and are used for skin and hair cleansing. The cocoyl fatty-acid distribution contributes a different composition from a single-chain lauroyl glutamate, while the powdered presentation changes the incorporation route compared with a liquid preparation. A formulation can combine it with complementary surfactants to tune lather and the feel after rinsing. Dissolution or dispersion should be developed around the intended texture and process. The powder's actual active content remains important when comparing it with an aqueous glutamate or scaling a concentrate.
