Sodium Methyl Lauroyl Taurate Functions & Applications

Sodium methyl lauroyl taurate is a sulfate-free anionic surfactant used to provide cleansing and foam in personal-care systems. Manufacturer examples include shampoos and facial foams, with specifically qualified grades also considered for oral-care development. Its lauroyl fatty-acid component distinguishes it from stearoyl and mixed cocoyl taurates, so the materials need not produce the same foam or texture in a shared base. It can be selected as part of a surfactant combination rather than as a complete cleanser on its own. Commercial forms include concentrated solids and other preparations, making active matter important when comparing additions. Development should examine dissolution, lather and after-feel with the intended co-surfactants and working pH.
