Soya Wax Functions & Applications

Soya wax is used as a plant-derived wax base in candle formulation. Supplier ranges demonstrate soy-based materials for different candle concepts, including wax blends and prepared grades designed around a particular format. The wax supplies the solid fuel structure and influences the way the candle sets, melts and delivers fragrance during burning. Container candles, pillars and wax melts place different demands on hardness and melting behaviour, so a single unspecified soy wax should not be assigned to every format. Selection should consider whether the supply is a pure base wax or a formulated blend. Development trials need to match wax, wick, fragrance and container, with appearance and burn behaviour assessed together.
